About the Founder
 Leo Ramirez, founder and owner of RAM Materials Inc., has been writing test materials and workbooks for Elementary, Middle School and High School students and teachers for over 20 years. As coach at McAllen High School for 31 years, his teams have won 20 team State Championships in Number Sense and Calculator Applications (11 in Calculator Applications and 9 in Number Sense). His UIL, TMSCA and classroom achievements have brought him numerous accolades including:
- Numerous TMSCA Coach of the Year awards
- HEB Excellence Award Finalist (2004)
- USA Today's Teacher Award Honorable Mention (1999)
- Tandy Corporation's Scholar Award (1995)
- Disney's American Teacher Award Finalist (1994)

- Reader's Digest Hero in Education (1992)
- Denius UIL Sponsors Excellence Award (1991)
His expertise in all UIL mathematics events is well documented. He has written more Number Sense, Calculator, and Mathematics tests for invitational tournaments and more workbooks and practice tests than any person in the history of UIL.
