Blog #180 – TWO RULES FOR BEING HAPPY

During my lifetime, I have followed 2 simple rules that have kept me happy. Rule #1: Do what makes you happy and Rule #2: always try your best. These rules apply to the job you choose, relationships you have and for those choosing to compete in mathematics. I have loved mathematics since I was very young. I decided to become a math teacher when I was 6 years old. While in the classroom I focused not only in learning the concepts being taught, but listened and observed teachers so that one day I would be a master teacher, 60 years later I am still doing what I love. I also feel blessed for all of the awards and accolades I have received for the work I have done. Since grade school I have made an effort to develop new ways of teaching mathematics. I have also learned some new mathematical concepts. Tutoring online has allowed me to do both. Whether it is tutoring students online, writing instructional math workbooks or presenting at a workshop, I have focused on doing my best. I am proud of what I have accomplished and am excited about sharing what I have learned with students, teachers, and parents for years to come.
